The leading Australian artist celebrates 150 years of the Victorian College of the Arts with a large-scale installation.

Last month one of Australia’s leading artists, Sally Smith, unveiled a new work, ‘Staging The Studio (A Choreography of Cutting)’ to celebrate 150 years of the Victorian College of the Arts. Internationally recognised for her dynamic, large scale installations, Sally’s practice spans a range of media, including felt cut-outs, painted canvas, drawings, screen printing, printed fabric and photography. Recently, her artworks have been selected by Italian fashion house Marni (!) in an artistic collaboration for an exclusive collection of clothing and accessories.

‘Staging The Studio (A Choreography of Cutting) opened October 6th and is on display until November 4th at Margaret Lawrence Gallery, Victorian College of the Arts.
