Venezuelan-born, Sydney-based multidisciplinary young artist, Nadia Hernández, has been named the City of Sydney’s New Year’s Eve creative artist! Sydney will shimmer under Nadia’s vibrant, joyful style, with her work splashed across banners and projected onto large-scale surfaces (including onto the iconic Harbour Bridge pylons!) city-wide.

Central to the series of artworks are five featured words: wonder, radiate, hope, dance, and together. ‘There is a great sense of unity about New Year’s Eve and this is a message of hope for the future,’ Nadia says of the project, ‘It starts with everybody coming together to celebrate a new beginning with friends, family and complete strangers and wish each other a happy new year. It’s very powerful and very special.’

The words will appear alongside images of native plants and animals, the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge and Bondi Beach.

Keep your eyes on Sydney to experience the joy of Nadia’s work this New Year’s Eve!
