The Design Files started up in early 2008 and since then has snowballed into the site you see here today. It’s been a brilliant ride and has sent Lucy lots of new friends and incredible opportunities. The Design Files has been featured in publications including The Age, The Good Weekend, Urbis, Design Quarterly, Inside Out Magazine, Real Living Magazine and Rue Magazine. In 2009 it was named by The Times (UK) as one of the world’s Top 50 design blogs.
Lucy has contributed design news and feature stories to various Australian magazines, and is very fortunate to be asked to speak regularly at various design and publishing industry events.
The Design Files covers Australian design in all its forms – from architecture and interiors to art, craft, graphic design and illustration. Regular features on the site include Australian Homes every Wednesday, and Interviews with talented local creative people every Friday.
Lisa Marie Corso is Lucy’s trusty editorial assistant / second in charge at TDF! She is currently completing a Masters in Publishing and Communications at the University of Melbourne. Lisa has a passion for online publishing and has completed internships at Three Thousand and Desktop. She has contributed to various online publications including Three Thousand, Desktop online, Everguide and Yen online. She knows a LOT about social media.
Sean Fennessy has become The Design Files’ official photographer of sorts – many of the homes you see featured here are shot by Sean. Sean hails from Tasmania where he began his career as a cadet photographer after completing a degree in journalism.
Sean’s client list includes MONA, Smith Journal, Clemenger, The Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and Channel 7. But we’re his favourite.
