I tell you what, we see a lot of bedlinen around here... but there was something about this brand new range from Melbourne's
Hunting for George that really caught our attention!
Hunting for George originally started life as a super cute online store stocking homewares, quirky accessories and gifts, launched in 2010 by sisters Lucy Glade-Wright and Jo Harris. Initially, the product range included a modest edit of items carefully selected by Lucy and Jo, alongside graphic prints designed by Lucy, whose background is in graphic and product design. Fast forward three years and this clever pair have significantly extended their product range, and they're pretty excited this month to launch their very own range of
bedlinen!
This brand new collection includes four doona cover designs, three sheet sets and matching pillowcases. We love the muted blue and pink tones, and that sweet 'Piñata Party' printed sheet, which adds a cheerful detail, without going too crazy!
'This is our first bedding collection but we’ve always been passionate ambassadors for a good night’s sleep!' says Lucy! 'Our aim is to introduce beautiful colour and pattern to the bedroom, in a refined and subtle way. We wanted to create a high quality range that was also affordable, and designed with both men and women in mind'.
Before joining forces, Lucy and we were both working full-time in two very different fields. Lucy was a senior designer at cycle accessories brand Knog, while Jo was a nursing co-ordinator at the Alfred Hospital. 'Being from these different backgrounds meant that we had a 50/50 split between creative and practical. This has really helped us to work together and grow the business, as we’re each able to bring different strengths to the table' says Lucy, adding, 'It’s great working with your sister! We have guilt free arguments, 24/7 support network and we find each other hilarious!'
Hunting for George's debut range of bedlinen is available from their online store, and through retail stockists listed
