You don’t need me to tell you how flippin’ FREEZING it is in Melbourne right now.  Most other capital cities seem to be feeling the chill too, and with this in mind, we figured it was time to hunt down a few cosy finds to keep you hibernating in style for the next couple of months… (with the exception of Darwin, perhaps – who seem to be enjoying 28+ temperatures!).

Our first port of call for the cosiest winter warmers was Abode Living, Melbourne’s bedding and linen specialists, who make the BEST doonas right here in Melbourne (I know because I have one and it is amazing).  As it happens, Abode have a brand spanking new WEBSITE, launched just this month, so they were keen to offer up something extra special for today’s post.  Comment on today’s post for the chance to win the ultimate winter bedroom package from Abode – including a set of their fabulous ‘Aspen’ flannel sheets, ‘Verbier’ flannel doona cover, and a snuggly extra warm ‘Fjord 650’ goosedown quilt.  Full giveaway details below!

We also ransacked a few of our favourite local stores to rustle up a range of deliciously toasty textiles, hug-able cushions, an armchair big enough to curl up in, and two super stylish beds worthy of the longest winter sleep ins!  Big thanks to JardanLoom Rugs (SOMEONE please buy that incredible blue/green rug before I do!), Cottage IndustrySafari LivingGanim’s StoreCountry Road,  Creswick Woollen MillsIKEAMr Kitly and Hobes for loaning us their lovely product to shoot.  Also, a quick mention of my dear partner Gordon Johnson whose beautiful handmade American Oak Bed makes its debut here today…! (Only fair really, considering his tireless efforts laying those stunning Royal Oak floor boards in our studio for this shoot – and packing them all up again afterwards!).

Special thanks to Eve Wilson for these beautiful shots, and to the brilliant Lisa Marie Corso for another epic propping / captioning effort.
