Today we’re re-visiting another amazing creative home, and one of my own personal favourite homes from this year! It’s a charming Queenslander in Brisbane’s West End, and home to artists Adam Lester and Caro Toledo, and their children, 8 year old twins Chilli and Arlo.
This rambling timber home sits right on the banks of the Brisbane river, amongst overgrown greenery. The main living areas of the home are raised off the ground, as is typical of so many Queensland homes, and the large ground level ‘basement’ beneath serves as Adam’s art studio.
There were so many lovely comments when we originally ran this story – lots of love for Adam and Caro’s eclectic sense of style and the ‘honest, real, lived in’ vibe, so evident in these shots. Oh, and it’s a rental – which is always a crowd pleaser! It’s always great to see what creative styling and decorating can be done in a rental property.
For the full backstory and many more pics, do re-visit the original post!
Adam is represented by Jan Murphy Gallery in Brisbane.

I love this house Lucy! Adam and Caro have done such a fabulous job and the fact that they’ve done this in a rental talks to me also, it reminds me of so many homes in Europe where renting is commonplace and adds to the character and creativity of a home. Hope that you had a lovely Christmas:)
Lovely relaxed classic eclectic Queensland style, inspirational with many great design tips (for my own Queenslander).
Fabulous! Pinned the crap outta it! :)
Its a lovely house. What I like the most is that the decorations are restricted to the minimal level keeping the house functional aspects in view. Also, I think that Adam and Caro have made interesting color choices. The house is very modern, yet has a touch of antiquity with the chandelier on the ceiling of the dining room, or a picture of Woody Allen from one of his movies. It is indeed very chic and stylish.
I love this home immensely, it definitely has the vibe of Brisbane flowing through it. It must be a joyous place to live. It has beautiful features {especially in the kitchen} and I love how it has been made into a home with their collection of amazing furniture and art. Plus the kettle in the kitchen – it’s gorgeous! I would hate to see that home renovated, it’s just so perfect as is.
