Hi! We are Jelena and Claire of We Love Perth, a web-based guide to Perth, which aims to showcase all the hidden gems and old favourites of our wonderful city. Perth can be a little tricky to navigate, as there are many top spots in little pockets of suburbia, so we’ve come up with a site that helps make discovering them a little easier! Come and join us on an insider’s guide to Perth this week, as we help you plan your next trip out West. And if you want more, head over to our blog where we will be interviewing local creative types all week long.

Now, the natural way to start off in a new city is to enjoy a delicious breakfast and coffee, at a place where all the locals go. If you’re staying in the CBD, why not try out the Greenhouse. Avid TDF followers (like us!), will know that Lucy has been raving about these brilliantly designed eateries for a while- see the video of the Sydney Greenhouse here! Well, we’re lucky to have our own Greenhouse in the middle of Perth. The fit out is environmentally friendly, and who doesn’t want to eat breakfast surrounded by hundreds of flowering strawberry plants? The menu is seasonal and you can be sure there will always be delicious and inspired offerings.

Another perfect city option is laneway favourite Tiger Tiger Coffee Bar. These guys are serious about their coffee – you’ll get your caffeine fix with a cup of joe that’s packed with punch. Pull up a seat in the laneway and enjoy feeling oh-so-cool.

If you find yourself heading towards the iconic port town of Fremantle, be sure to head to Moore & Moore café in Freo for the most amazing French toast, with both sweet and savoury options on offer. You can check out the current exhibition at the adjoining gallery, or take in some live tunes in the back courtyard on the weekends. Follow it up with an afternoon beer in the sunshine at nearby Little Creatures Brewery.

If outdoor eating with a million dollar view is more your thing, consider Beaches at Cottesloe Beach. The unpretentious atmosphere will be sure to draw you in, and sandy feet and wet towels are all the go. You can enjoy a tasty breakfast whilst relaxing in the sunshine! Another fabulous water-side but inner-city option is Toast in East Perth. Although it’s nestled in a new building development, the airy breeze and retro fit-out is more than welcoming.
