Today we take a close-up look at some of the inspiration behind Emily Green‘s Heidi Necklace – I love the spotty blue bead! Don’t forget to leave a comment before 10pm tomorrow to be in the draw to win one of Emily Green‘s brand new Audrey Necklaces, check out all the details here. – Jenny x
Colour palette for Heidi Necklace
- A coloured pencil and paint chip collage
- A photograph I took of the fabulous 1950s welcome sign on a recent visit to Bright
- Lovely Melbourne-based artist Liesl Pfeffer’s ‘Mountain’s Wait’ collage
- A handpainted fluoro doily I found on etsy.com
- A pink edged succulent from my garden
- A floral lasercut I did at TAFE last year
- An awesome paste-up that was on a wall on Blyth st East Brunswick a couple of months ago. I loved how the paper peeled back to reveal a fluoro orange band poster.

LOVE the feel of this site and fantastic guest blog! That necklace is so quirky and cool…kinda like uber Fruit Loops (a very popular kid’s cereal here in the States!). I will be featuring “the Design Files” in our “Blogs We Dig” tomorrow on DiggersList.com! Yay!

Hi Emily!
How great is the ‘Bright’ sign? It’s a time-warp! We used to have our photo taken below it as kids and now when I go there camping with mates and have my adult self photographed with it.
I’m really enjoying seeing the eclectic places you get your inspiration from.
Thanks so much for sharing
I received an Emily Green necklace the other day as a gift. I love it. They’re gorgeous.
It’s now going to be my go-to gift for all my lovely friends.
ps – the blue dotty bead is too cute!!
Love this colour combo… classic yet quirky.
The doily image is amazing, a very inspiring image collage. x
Ooooh, that lazer cut is lovely! Love your work!

Thanks for making me aware of Emily’s necklace. Adore the colours!
definitely my favourite so far! stunner!
such gorgeous work, Emily – keep it up!
This is beautiful work..I have been secretly coveting them from afar and there they are in Design Files…lovely fresh colours…can’t wait for Spring!!
I just want to bite into a bead; they remind me of sugared almonds.
I have that print by Liesl Pfeffer…in fact, that’s the reason I don’t have any Emily Green jewellery. They were both at the same market and I spent all my cash on Liesl’s art work before I made it to Emily’s stall.

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! That eye-popping reddy orange bead is stunning, and I really, really love the little punch of texture with the aqua bead. Gorgeous work from a lovely lady. I purchased a pair of Emily’s earrings this week and will certainly have to add a necklace to the collection very soon.
Love this bike – perfect wheels for Melbourne
