DANIEL EMMA – Our World – Bombay Sapphire Design Discovery

by Jenny Butler
Thursday 24th March 2011

Today is your last chance to leave a comment & be in the draw to win your favourite piece from the D.E range - the winner will be announced tomorrow!! If you are in Sydney TONIGHT, you must go & visit the Bondi Top3 store for the opening of the Bombay Sapphire Design Discovery Award where you can meet Daniel + Emma in real life! – Jenny x

Our Basics collection

Some of you may or may not know that we were recently awarded the Bombay Sapphire Design Discovery Award for 2010. Winning this prestigious award has given us an incredible amount of exposure, as well as $30,000 and a trip to Italy in 3 weeks time for the Milan Furniture Fair. The work we were awarded the prize for was our Basics Collection which consists of a Pendant Light, Brass Paperweights, Magnetic Tower, and Polished Stainless Steel Mirror. For us designing and manufacturing a collection within Australia, and better still all within our state, is an incredible accomplishment, and we are as proud as punch. We enjoyed our time in Sydney for the awards by going to the zoo, drinking copious amounts of Pimms and eating lunch at our favourite Sydney restaurant the Ivy.

Taronga Zoo is a pretty special place. The day we went the sun was shining and the seals put on a real show.

PIMMS is our drink of choice, rain, hail or shine.

We both had steak at The Ivy, it was pretty rad. Especially with grainy mustard –
D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S.

Tonight, Thursday the 24th of March is the opening of the Bombay Sapphire Design Discovery Award exhibition to be held in conjunction with Top3 by design near their Bondi store (Walkover Bridge, level 5, Westfield Bondi Junction.) Head along if you are in town to meet and greet some designers, see all of the finalists work (including ours) buy some beautiful work from the Top3 store and most importantly enjoy a drink at the Bombay Cocktail Bar!

Hope to see you there!

I’m not really sure that I understand their work. It would be nice to see some boundaries pushed…
