‘Byron Bay is a dream come true’ – Zoe Paul.

Zoe Paul, founder of beloved Mister Zimi clothing label, husband Jim, three kids their menagerie of pets (a giant Newfoundland dog, a parrot, two bunnies, and six silkie chickens!) are upsizing their digs in Byron Bay. The upside is, they are leaving behind this much loved home, a Queenslander style property… and it could be yours!

Zoe and her family spent their first two years in Byron living in this bright and cheerful weatherboard home. She describes the huge front verandah and the airflow they rolls through up from the beach, and enthuses ‘they just don’t build homes like they used to!’ The breezy beachside home is a super close to the water, but also a short five minute stroll to the supermarket for emergency lemonade icy-poles and sunscreen.

The property largely retains its original structure, but Jim encouraged the addition of a giant window at the back of the home. While Zoe and the builder were initially ‘a little nervous’ about this renovation, she admits that ‘honestly it’s the best part of the house. It looks amazing and allows beautiful natural light to stream into the living space.’

At the back of the garden is a studio space, where Zoe and Jim previously used to run their business. Who knew Mister Zimi HQ had such humble beginnings! Zoe highlights ‘it has a beautiful relaxed atmosphere, being set up on the hill in the garden.’

While the family are sad to be leaving, they aren’t venturing far! Zoe explains ‘Byron Bay is a dream come true, its honestly my favourite place on earth and our family feels so blessed to have decided to move here… and will never leave!’ If you decide Byron might be for you too, Zoe cites Nikua florist, Bayleaf café, Jai Vasicek art, and Mister Zimi clothing (of course!) as treasures all within a five-minute walk of the house. If you are interested, take a tour of the home here – and soak up the furnishings, they come with the house!
