Local design legends Hungry Workshop, Pop & Pac, and Bone Digital have brought together the creative community for a one-night only graphic design fundraising exhibition supporting the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation. Twenty Six features, you guessed it, twenty-six designers, artists and creators for an exhibition at Backwoods Gallery to raise money for the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation’s ‘Subtext: Art for Literacy’ school program.

The concept for Twenty Six is simple (and very cute) – each of the participating designers has been assigned a letter from the alphabet and have submitted a design that corresponds to a selection of design terms, as well as a specific emotion. The works will be displayed as a series in an exhibition at Collingwood favourite, Backwoods Gallery, with limited release letterpress prints by Hungry Workshop available to purchase, as well as a one-of-a-kind framed print that will be for sale by silent auction on the night. Some of Australia’s major players in the design community including A Friend of Mine, Evi O, Studio Round, Studio Hi Ho and The Company You Keep have submitted fantastic designs for this truly excellent cause.

The ‘Subtext: Art for Literacy’ program is an intensive art project that merges arts with the written word to provide a powerful means for young people of refugee background to express the complex and diverse aspects of their pasts, presents and futures. The program includes such things as group mural painting, arts and crafts, music and more.

Full list of designers involved: 3D2D, A Friend of Mine, Athlete, Confetti, Evi O, Holt, Hungry Workshop, JAC&, Love + Money, Maud, Mildred & Duck, Motherbird, Never Now, Open Season, Ortolan, Pop & Pac, SP–GD, Seesaw, Steve Gavan, Studio Hi Ho, Studio io, Studio Round, Susu Studio, Swear Words, The Company You Keep, and Weekdays.
