Brisbane-based multidisciplinary artist Rachel Burke is bringing her massive sparkle power to Melbourne for a collaboration with the Australian Centre for the Moving Image during Melbourne Fashion Week. The undisputed tinsel queen will be undertaking a residency at the Victorian cultural centre’s Future Lab, as well adding an ample sprinkling of her signature swish and sparkle to takeover the current Wonderland exhibition programming.
Go down the rabbit hole with Rachel on Friday night, as she debuts her Wonderland-inspired capsule collection in a fashion show at the fabulously debaucherous burlesque/circus/drag event, Honcho Disko, as part of the Wonderland late-night program.
On Saturday afternoon, Rachel will be talking tinsel while singing the first copies of her new book, Be Dazzled, and will be at ACMI’s Future Lab throughout the first week of September. There will also be a host of exclusive Wonderland merchandise available from the ACMI store. Curious and curiouser, for sure!
