This new exhibition at an Adelaide cultural hub, JamFactory brings together design talent from across Australia. While some in this collection of furniture, ceramics and textiles make more obvious references to the theme through the use of natural fibres and materials, others take on a more subtle expression.
Among those involved is Marcel Sigel. The Perth born, Melbourne-based designer, shows Tulipa (pictured), his 2015 range for goHome that clearly emulates the form of tulip petals in his colourful, multifunctional pieces.
Intricate wallpaper from the team at Willie Weston will also feature in the exhibition. The social enterprise, which is based in Melbourne, present interpretations of the Australian landscapes by Australian Aboriginal artists. The Ampilatwatja Collection designs are by artists from the community of Ampilatwatja in Central Australia.
In addition to this, Thinking Outside includes works from textile designer Lily Buttrose, Adelaide furniture designers Max Hunt, Matt Taylor and Matt Pearson and ceramicists Stephanie James Manttan and Tania Rollond.
