The Social Outfit's Bold New Collection

A little retail therapy from the clothing label that doubles as a social enterprise.

Sydney-based label, The Social Outfit, empowers refugee communities through creative jobs, education and social inclusion. Founded in 2014, the Ethical Australia-accredited label tackles multiple social issues at once through their innovative practises and core philosophies, providing employment and training in the fashion industry to people from refugee and new migrant communities in clothing production, retail, design and marketing.

Partnering with the Australian fashion community, The Social Outfit use excess and unused textiles otherwise headed to landfill to create their seasonal collections. For this season, major Australian brands like Romance Was Born, Carla Zampatti, Alice McCall, Seafolly and Good Day Girl have provided the off-cut fabric for King Botanic, a collection of 36 garments and 20 accessories launched today!

This new range includes chic shell tops and camis, the *perfect* everyday wrap dress, and a wear-anywhere bomber jacket in three exclusive prints. London-based artist Kate Banazi has lent her signature linear artwork to a print for the collection; Studio A, an organisation empowering artists living with intellectual disabilities, have contributed to original paintings from resident artist Annette Galstaun; and young women from the new migrant and refugee community in Liverpool have developed a group print, featuring a collage of ten different illustration styles.
