If you day-dream of wicking beds, and carry a pair of secateurs in your backpack for over-hanging cuttings on the way home – then we have the event for you!

The Shrub Hub Series is the brain child of everyone’s favourite gardening guru Phillip Withers (sorry Peter Cundall), and draws together a green-thumbed gang of Australian growers, designers and horticulturalists to share their knowledge. The series runs the evening of Friday, March 1st, and all day Saturday, March 2nd and Sunday, March 3rd.

Alongside horticultural experts like Wona Bae of Looseleaf and Johnny Cactus from Cactus Country, the incredible line-up of speakers includes of very own partnerships manager, Alice Johnson! When Alice isn’t at TDF, she is at home doting on her beloved chickens, growing vegetables and overseeing the honey-making by her bees! Our golden-garden-gal’s generous stories of transforming her Northcote backyard into a wild veggie patch makes zucchini growing sound achievable to even the most dead-pot-plant city dweller among us (seriously – check out her TDF food series on all things pickled and preserved here, here, here and here).

The full line up of plant whispers and enviro activists can be viewed here. Entry to the event is by gold coin donation, with proceeds going to Greening Australia, who are committed to tacking Australia’s biggest environmental challenges.
