Molly Younger and Martha Poggioli first met at another design studio in 2015. Over many conversations outside of work, they discovered a shared interest for conceptual design. Their debut collection, Multiple Meanings, was developed over a period of three years, during which time Matha moved to Chicago to complete postgraduate study and Molly released an incredible collection of latex luggage (read more about that here!)

Inspired, in part, by a conversation about how they might replace sewn seams in a garment, the first iteration from Multiple Meanings (MM) is a collection of durable, robust garments constructed using innovative seams and joining mechanisms.

‘In place of the traditional method of stitching seams with sewing machines, each MM garment employs a process we have been experimenting with for two years’, explain Molly and Martha, ‘it involves the joining of cloth with a series of wet, natural latex layers that cure to become a soft, malleable skin; forever bonded to the cloth’.

This made-to-order collection is available to purchase at Molly’s store in Collingwood, and will soon be introduced to Japan!
