Four years ago, Kristy Tippett and her husband Brock stepped in at the 11th hour to save 8000 rose bushes set to be bulldozed, and painstakingly transported them to their own farm in Dean, Victoria. Now, they’re in need of their own miracle.

Following numerous challenges caused by pests and the pandemic, Soho Rose Farm has been hit by a storm just one week out from their first big flush of the 2022 season. The storm has caused significant damage, completely destroying the roses’ opportunity to bloom, as well as Brock’s potato crop on the same property.

After two years of running in the red, significant financial help is required to save Soho Rose Farm, which is one of the largest field-grown rose farms in the state – growing lush, garden roses the old-fashioned way, with sustainable pest management and irrigation practices. A GoFundMe page has been established by fellow florist Gina Lasker to raise $40,000, which will allow Soho to hand prune their 13,000 plants ASAP to hopefully bloom again this season.
