The much-loved regional artist shows a new body of sculptural ceramic work at Paper Boat Press in Brisbane.

Brisbane’s boutique ceramic studio, Paper Boat Press, has just launched one of its major exhibitions for the year. Periphery is a selection of ceramic works by Katherine Wheeler, a well-known ceramic artist based in Castlemaine, Victoria.

The exhibition, which is on until June 16th, features original drawings alongside intricate and delicate sculptural pieces. Katherine’s works twist, turn and spring roots through their ceramic detailing, taking on the appearance of fine fishing nets!

The winner of the Victorian Craft Award (from Craft Victoria) in 2017, She holds a bachelor of fine arts in gold and silversmithing. Her work takes inspiration from marine life and habitats and contemplates human impact on the natural world.
