For over 20 years, independent Melbourne label Obus has been bringing customers thoughtful and practical apparel in an array of palettes and prints.

This Mother’s Day the much-loved local label, who have a history of supporting social enterprise, is encouraging people to consider mums less fortunate than their own by partnering with We Care Nauru, an organisation dedicated to providing a lifeline of support for families and kids currently in detention. There are currently 269 people, including 22 children, who remain in the Nauru offshore detention centre.

Obus stores (located in the CBD, Fitzroy, Northcote and Brunswick East) are calling for donations of clothing, food, vitamins and educational resources for the women and children currently detained on Nauru Island. All items will make their way directly to those who need them most thanks to the incredible efforts of the group of volunteers who run We Care Nauru.

Those living outside of Melbourne also have the opportunity to contribute to this worthy cause and can make a cash donation via the Obus online store, with all proceeds going towards Gifts For Nauru And Manus

If you want to pick up a little something extra for your own mum, the kind folks at Obus have generously offered 20% off all purchases to those who donate in-store or online. Donations close this Sunday, May 13th, so make sure you get there this weekend!
