We love a good collaboration around here! One that’s popped up on our radar recently is between industrial design studio, Mr. Fräg (headed up by Frag Woodall), and Australia’s leading rug company, Designer Rugs. Together, they’ve developed a collection of hand-tufted rugs in four different graphic, geometric prints.

The contemporary designs take inspiration from Frag’s fascination with timber joining, techniques, and his background as a skilled craftsman. Despite being ‘initially daunted’ by taking on a predominately two-dimensional project, Frag found similarities between the two worlds. ‘My work often has a focus on materiality and a tactile engagement,’ he explains, ‘and this approach has a natural application working with rug textiles.’

Fresh from debuting at the Stockholm Furniture Fair (keep an eye out from our Instagram Stories live from the event this weekend), the rug collection is now on display at Designer Rugs’ showroom in Sydney, Melbourne Brisbane, and Auckland, plus viewable online at designerrugs.com.au.
