Greatly inspired by the art of weaving, Miranda Skoczek finds herself drawn to rugs that hail from North Africa, particularly the Atlas region of Morocco, as inspiration. ‘I am taken by their chaotic configurations,’ Miranda says, ‘they remind me of the European Avant-Garde movement – COBRA – where experimentation was paramount.’

Despite her description of an ‘almost pious connection’ to her process-driven practice, Miranda shares this sense of freedom and intuitive experimentation in her work. In true Miranda style, this latest exhibition is bold, energetic and unapologetic.

Flashes Across The Field will be officially launched by our mate Tim Ross at 5pm this Saturday. See you there!
