Fitzroy locals will no doubt be familiar with Lucas Grogan’s intricate blue and white murals as seen on George Street and several other Australian and international sites. The artist’s work is usually commissioned for individual clients and produced on a large scale, which is why we’re excited to see Lucas’ designs now being printed on tableware!
These plates have been produced in collaboration with Hugo Michell Gallery featuring two different Lucas prints: Good One and You Are the Reason... Printed on melamine, the plates are fun, durable pieces ideal for parties, camping and barbecues.
Lucas’ geometric linework explores themes of isolation, inclusion and cultural collisions through an autobiographical lens. His works spans the art disciplines of needlepoint, installation, painting and drawing.
