Since starting klaylife out of their garage four years ago, the father-daughter team behind the business have come a long way! This week Phillip Jones and Kerri Wallace open the doors to their new klaylife home in Cheltenham, a place to showcase their incredible clay-beaded chandeliers, pendants, lamps and wall hangings.

Originally from South Africa, Phillip and Kerri work with women from their home country to handcraft their unique lighting and jewellery. From a community of in Kawzalu-Natal, South Africa, each clay bead is hand rolled using raw clay, then sun dried, kiln fired, and strung onto their iron frames. When Phillip and Kerri first started klaylife, 12 women whose lives had been affected by HIV were permanently employed to create these unique pieces. Today, there are now 65 dedicated women on the klaylife team.

klaylife’s appointment-only showroom is full of references to Phillip and Kerri’s South African heritage, allowing visitors to understand the product range in the context of a home environment, as well as the significance of the brand’s roots. Everything in the space is available for purchase including a curated selection of furniture, decor, rugs, art and soft furnishings.

RSVP for their grand opening this weekend and look forward to champagne, cheese and a $200 voucher for their distinctive lighting range!
