Melissa Grisancich is a brilliant acrylic painter whose style has been described as ‘pop meets Frida Kahlo’. The artist/curator is holding classes in acrylic painting open to all levels at the RVCA Corner Gallery in Collingwood.

Classically trained in Fine Art as an oil painter, Melissa found opportunities for her practice to expand when she began working with acrylic paints 10 years ago. She’s had a number of solo shows (including one in San Fran!), curates an annual girls-only exhibition called ‘Spring Time’ and manages the gallery programming at the RVCA Corner Gallery too.

Class participants can expect to learn the fundamentals of acrylic painting, including paints and pigments, foreground and background techniques, using still life as a reference and preparation, plus care and maintenance of materials. A still life installation made up of some of Melissa’s wild and wonderful collected objects will serve as fodder for inspiration. Materials, drinks, and snacks will also be included.

Jump on this one soon – spots are limited!
