Melbourne will transform into a thriving design hub for 10 days in March for Melbourne Design Week, with over 200 events taking place at various locations across the city. The Mercedes me store on William Street will play host to a number of thought-provoking panel discussions that delve into experimental design ideas.

Break The Business Model goes behind-the-scenes with industry leaders who have shunned traditional working methods and business models in their own organisations. Led by Indesign magazine editor, journalist and communications strategist Alice Blackwood, a panel of trailblazing design experts will provide insights into the way their unconventional practices thrive.

Alice with be joined by Jade Sarita Arnott (founder of Melbourne fashion label Arnsdorf), Byron George (founder of design studio Russell & George) and Balder Tol (general manager at WeWork) for a candid conversation traversing the high highs and low lows of the paths they’ve forged.

‘While Balder, Jade and Byron come from very different ends of the Australian design industry, they are all bold thinkers and creatively-minded entrepreneurs who bring vision and energy to what they do’, explains Alice, ‘they are creative problem solvers, and bravely challenge the norms to suggest new ways to work, design and engage.’
