External pressures are good for getting the creative juices flowing. So rather than be deterred by the monotony of lockdown, Designer Rugs looked for inspiration – and doubled down on creativity!

Through the isolation and social-distancing of the last 12 months, the designers at Designer Rugs were inspired by the energy and resilience of the creative industries. Their new ‘Community’ collection was designed during lockdown, and explores the sense of community created by the pandemic, as well as enthusiasm at the prospect of a new year (and a turned leaf!).

Inspired by the idea of virtual communication, the six new rug designs contain interlocking geometric patterns, glitch motifs and deco references. Each rug is handtufted from New Zealand wool – with some featuring bamboo silk details – and can be customised to any colour, shape or size for residential or commercial projects.

Explore the ‘Community’ collection here. See here for more information on Designer Rugs.
