Over the past 30 years Aesop skincare has integrated itself into the homes of the most stylish people around the globe. These days their simple pump soap is a cult item, indicating the bathroom owner’s appreciation for art and design – a pretty incredible feat for an item previously hidden away or dispensed into more stylish vessels! Considering their transformation of skincare products into aesthetic must-haves, Aesop’s foray into actual design objects should come as no surprise.

Last night Aesop announced their very first object collaboration with Henry Wilson, a Sydney-based designer who has previously created two incredible store fit-outs for the brand. The Brass Oil Burner draws upon Henry’s distinctive use of the material in his own work, designed to be used in conjunction with Aesop’s four oil burner blends. Weighing a substantial one kilogram, the intentionally uneven brass design is both aesthetically pleasing and practical in equal measure.

‘The design intent was to create a vessel which was part tool, part votive art object, and to reflect Aesop’s strong eastern philosophy with regards to design where importance is placed on the irregular and asymmetrical as points of unique beauty and poetry,’ Henry explains of the collaboration.

The Brass Oil Burner by Aesop x Henry Wilson will launch globally  online and in Aesop signature stores on September 24th, 2018.
