West Wind Collector is an independent market organised by a bunch of local makers keen to showcase their work in a friendly, face-to-face fashion – something we can totally get behind after getting a chance to connect with lots of TDF followers last month at Open House!

They’ll be running their second market this Saturday December 9th and Sunday December 10th, which is set to include swoon-worthy pieces from a line-up of emerging local talent. There will be ceramics by La Petite Fabrique de Brunswick and Dawn Vachon, locally made vegan soap and candles by Soap Club, as well as fine jewellery by Min Pin design, Victoria Mason and Vikki Kassioras, to name a few.

‘The idea behind this market was born out of a wish for myself and a group of artist friends to create an event that aligned with our values and best represented melbourne’s creative community,’ said founder Lucile Sciallano.

‘This started from a small backyard market advertised to our followers on Instagram, now it’s grown into this amazing Christmas market at the Abbotsford Convent, it’s so picturesque there, the space is incredible so we are very lucky,’ added Zibby Aitken-Valtenbergs, the founder of Soap Club.

Stop by for originals, samples and one-off wares, and also to check out a special section where comic artists will be presenting their latest hand-drawn zines and comics.
