Local artist Dave Kulesza is best known for his stylised photography of architecture and travel, but like so many others during lockdown, he pivoted.

Under the new name Boris Bombay (inspired by Bombay Sapphire gin!) the artist has a whole new practice – mosaic tiled artworks! His new series of colourful pieces create scenery inspired by retro video games and art deco architecture, all created from coloured tiles. The blocky buildings and 8-bit character of animated electronics lent themselves well to this graphic format, brought to life in pastel and neon 80s colour schemes.

One particular piece was inspired by Bombay Sapphire’s iconic blue gin – and it could be yours! By signing up to the Bombay Sapphire newsletter, you could win the original artwork depicting a baby blue city bar with a lilac sunset and, of course, a neon martini sign. A little bit Hockney, a little bit Stephen Baker – this original artwork is a slice of dreamy graphic nostalgia, with a contemporary edge.

Sign up to the newsletter here to WIN this original artwork by Boris Bombay. Competition ends February 3rd, 2022. T+Cs apply.
