When the world feels a bit hopeless, it’s important to remember that little things go a long way. In the spirit of this sentiment, Beci Orpin has designed a range of graphic merchandise for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre so anyone can publicly express their support for refugee rights.

Beci Orpin x ASRC comprises tote bags, badges and T-shirts for both adults and kids. Each item is emblazoned with Beci’s bold, colourful graphics and features a slogan supporting refugee and asylum seekers, such as ‘I Stand With Refugees’, ‘Refugees Welcome’ and ‘There’s Room For Refugees’.

‘After the results of the last Federal election I created a graphic to show that regardless of who is in power, there are still things we can do as individuals on a daily basis to make the world a better and more positive place,’ Beci says of the inspiration behind her design. This strong and hopeful collection with ASRC is a continuation of that effort to make important issues more visible in everyday life.

‘During the COVID response we have seen how quickly the government can make changes,’ Beci explains further. ‘It is completely possible for us to create humane and decent policies that uphold refugee rights.’

Beci’s collection reminds us that there is always room for more kindness in the world.

Proceeds from the purchase will go towards the ASRC’s programs to support and empower people seeking asylum.
