Immigrating to Melbourne from Paris in 1951, Mirka became Melbourne’s undisputed darling of culture and creativity, regaling friends and strangers with her outrageous stories and captivating the heart of art lovers with imaginative, enchanting artworks.

While Mirka was best known for her paintings and murals, she was also an avid creator and collector of hand-painted dolls, a large collection of these currently on display at Mirka’s spiritual home, Heide Museum of Modern Art (read our story on the exhibition here!).
