Letter from the Editor
Wow… what a WEEK! It’s been a little while between editor’s letters but if there’s ever been a week to remember, this was it!
Last night was a first for team TDF – the awards ceremony for our inaugural TDF Design Awards. It was by far the fanciest event we’ve ever put together, and I am so proud of our team and all our collaborators.
Massive congrats to all the finalists, especially the winners (read more about them here!) and commendations. My list of thank yous is too long to mention, but I have to give a special shoutout to our amazing PR/events expert Esther Navarro-Orejon of The Project Agency, our 31 brilliant judges, generous awards sponsors and of COURSE my brilliant team of hardworking women!
This project has been one of the biggest learning curves. We pulled it off… but man, it wasn’t easy! As soon as we launched this awards program it grew… and grew… and grew! ‘What shall we do about trophies?’, ‘What about an event newspaper?’, ‘Oh… we forgot about animation for our AV presentation – does anyone know an animator?’, ‘ … etc etc etc! Safe to say, we didn’t quite know what we were getting ourselves into…!
If there’s one thing this project has cemented for me, it’s that nothing is more important that the people you surround yourself with, both in business and in life. Being backed by a team who share my vision so wholeheartedly, who are so personally invested in everything we do, and who lift me up when I’m actually not sure if we really can pull everything off… that is what makes all of this possible.
So, to my team – Annie, Sally, Sasha, Chelsea, Alice, Miriam – THANKYOU, so, so much, for being my ever-enthusiastic co-pilots on the crazy ride that is TDF! I truly don’t know where I’d be without you!
