Letter from the Editor
What can I say? It’s been one very surreal week, and I really hope everyone out there is feeling ok – both physically and mentally – in these very challenging times. We realised haven’t really given you an update on what WE’RE doing over here, so here goes.
Team TDF are all working from home right now (except me) but we’re more committed than ever to make our little corner of the internet an inspiring and joyful refuge right now. We’ve received some wonderful feedback this week, including the most lovely email yesterday thanking us for being a ‘bright spot in an otherwise depressing news feed’… and it’s so incredibly encouraging to hear that, so thank you for spurring us on!
Over the coming weeks, we want you to know that we’re here, and we got you! We’ll be publishing as much of our regular content as possible – our Homes, Architecture and Interiors stories will still be coming at you as usual – phew! We will be changing up a handful of our regular columns because there are just a few things we can’t shoot at the moment, but rest assured we’ll be doing our very best to bring you the TDF you love, every day.
We’re also committed to supporting those in our community who are doing it tough right now – the hospitality operators and workers, the retailers, the events companies, caterers and florists, as well as the performers, musicians and artists who rely on public events for their livelihoods. We will be doing our best to support as many of you as we can over this time, and brainstorming new ways to promote what you’re doing. Now more than ever, we’d love to hear from you, our readers – let us know if there are stories you especially want to see from us at this time, and also – tip us off if there are great initiatives happening in your world that you think deserve some TDF love.
Well, that’s it from me, for now. Stay tuned next week for a special video walk-through of Maggie Green’s exhibition ‘I Been Born There’, which we filmed last week, in lieu of having a public opening. AND also, if you need podcast recommendations (who doesn’t right now) – check out House of Style podcast, a lovely Aussie podcast about design – I was very honoured to be interviewed for their latest episode!
