Mid-Century Magic On A Bushland Block (And On The Market!)

On the outskirts of Melbourne (37 kilometres north-east of the CBD to be exact) lies Mount Evelyn, a quaint and bushy suburb surrounded by creeks and in close proximity to the Dandenong Ranges National Park.

This original mid-century house was built in 1967 and has been held by the same family ever since – until now. It’s on the market people!

This four-bedroom home in Mount Evelyn has been occupied by the same family that built it in 1967. Situated on 10 hectares of rolling, secluded bushland and surrounded by local trails, it’s pretty much the suburban dream!

The single storey mid-century house retains a clean, minimalist interior in keeping with the intention of the original layout: to highlight the natural outlook. Pale terrazzo floors stretch from one end of the house to the other, while exposed grey brick pillars demarcate the transition between rooms.

But the piece de resistance is the wall of windows which runs the length of the residence. A mix of sliding doors and floor-to ceiling windows, you’ll get a ridiculously good panoramic views from any room in the house. Incredible!

80 Clegg Road, Mount Evelyn will be sold at auction (live and online) on Saturday, January 30th at 10.30 am. See here for the full listing and inspection times.
