For 25 years, Paul Bangay has created the most incredible, elegant and timeless gardens across Australia and the world!

Inspired by his mum, who was a passionate gardener, Paul studied horticulture at the University of Melbourne Burnley campus. After completing his studies, he opened his own small nursery in Hawksburn in Melbourne. Without any real business plan or strategy, that first business has evolved over the years into an award-winning design studio, which now employees a small team of designers and support staff in Melbourne.

Over the course of his career, Paul has also authored 10 books, the latest of which is out next month! Entitled Small Garden Design it provides a dense resource for anyone looking to create a green oasis in a tiny outdoor space or even on a balcony.

I sat down with Paul in his studio in Cremorne, Melbourne, where we discussed his incredibly successful career, the mentors who have inspired him along the way, the creation of his own impossibly beautiful garden at Stonefields, and his new book.
