'Match Stick' By Capra Designs

Today we catch up with Bianca Lambert and Tom Wilson, the husband-wife team behind Capra Designs, to take a look at their latest range, Match Stick, which sees a strong focus on surface design, and introduces new items to the Capra family.

With plans for the big trade fairs later in the year, and an international launch, amongst all the busy-ness (and business!), Bianca and Tom have somehow managed to fit in moving houses, studios AND warehouses! Some people have really got this whole ‘time management’ thing down.

Bianca Lambert and Tom Wilson, the husband and wife team behind Capra Designs, recently launched their latest range of hand-poured resin pieces, adding a collection of vases and a rich new Garnet Red colourway to their offerings. Inspired by their previous ‘Terrazzo‘ range, these new vessels grew from experimentation into new forms of surface design. ‘The Match Stick collection really grew out of a desire to work with mixed media,’ says Bianca.

Retaining their emphasis on thoughtful design and high-quality finishes, Bianca still finds the handmade process integral to their designs, and has a particular fondness for ‘the beauty in the imperfections.’

An arts marketer and a carpenter by profession respectively, Bianca and Tom have been working hard to refine their brand aesthetic since their launch in 2015. And they must be doing something right! In January the duo launched their collection of resin-poured plant accessories and design objects in New York (!), and later this year will be exhibiting at Denfair as well as at the first Big Design Trade show, in August.

Match Stick is available for pre-order at capradesigns.com and will be available in stores from May 2018.
