Interior decorator and retail proprietor Amanda Henderson-Marks describes her home as ‘chalky and neat rustic’ – the perfect descriptor, we think! She and her husband Michael, a landscape designer, stumbled upon this rambling Edwardian home in Northcote seven year ago, and were instantly smitten with the property. Although it was in dire need of some TLC, Amanda and Michael could see the potential here, and were ready to tackle a new creative project together.
As soon as they moved in, Amanda and Michael began renovations, stripping carpet, replacing doors and painting interior walls. Once the cosmetic side of the rebuild was complete, Amanda began layering her home with vintage ephemera and treasured curiosities sourced over the years via her business and her retail store.
Amanda’s aesthetic is an amalgamation of carefully curated vintage pieces, muted tones and soft textures, resulting in an idyllic space that feels relaxed, inviting and lived in.
