The Outlanders · Maryanne Moodie

Today we are thrilled to be in leafy and supremely photogenic Brooklyn, New York, with the radiant Maryanne Moodie – a multi-talented creative who probably needs little introduction!

In this film, we spend time with Maryanne and her two young children at home, before visiting her nearby studio, and sitting in on a class full of eager Saturday morning weaving students.

Incredibly, at the time of our visit, Maryanne’s youngest bub, Rudi, was just four weeks old.  The fact that she agreed to participate in this film series (and let us photograph her home!) at such a special and sleepless time seemed unbelievable to me. But, as we quickly learned, Maryanne has a miraculous way of taking everything calmly in her stride. Work, life, babies and…. film crews!  She truly is one very special human, and it’s a privilege to share a little window into her world today.

‘The success of my business has a lot to do with sharing knowledge, connecting people and creating community around something I love. Brooklyn is teeming with creative folk who are keen to join me on this crazy journey. It feels like gift to call what I do a job. I’ve hit the jackpot.’ – Maryanne Moodie.

The Outlanders film series is proudly supported by Expedia.com.au. Pop over to the Expedia blog today to check out my Brooklyn bucket list!
