Sydney artist and designer Rachel Castle never sits still for long, she’s always working on an exhibition, a clever collaboration, or developing new product ideas.  The latest addition to Castle’s lineup are these fabulous folded paper sculptures, sourced on a recent trip to India.

‘Our new paper sculptures are seriously beautiful. The minute Leni and I saw them on our last trip to India we knew we HAD to sell them’ says Rachel, whose bustling little business is pretty much a two-woman operation behind the scenes.   ‘They are very beautifully crafted matt laminated paper origami sculptures, handmade by our lovely new Indian suppliers. You just want to touch them, pick them up and marvel at how mathematically perfect every little crease and fold is’.

These sculptures are such a sweet and easy styling solution for any corner in need of a lift, either at home or work.  They make a bold, contemporary statement on a side table, book shelf or bedside.  They are lightweight and flat-pack completely, making them super easy to send as a gift, yet are surprisingly robust, held together by super strong little magnets.

‘I really REALLLY love paper. I think its such an incredibly versatile medium, and I love the idea that you can make something three dimensional that you just want to pick up and hold, all from a flat piece of paper’ Rachel enthuses.

The range is available in four exclusive colours, plus a marble print, and starts at $59.00 from Castle’s online store.
