It's no secret I'm a huge fan of iconic Australian brand Dinosaur Designs, whose impressive creative output has spanned almost three decades.  Their distinctive resin jewellery, vessels and collectible pieces have become recognisable the world over - Dinosaur Designs is now a household name both here and abroad, with seven stores in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and New York, and many more stockists worldwide.  As you might recall we interviewed DD co-founders Louise Olsen and Stephen Ormandy last year, and also featured their amazing Sydney home last month. Forgive me, but I'm back on the DD campaign trail today (!!) because I just couldn't resist sharing their latest project!  This month Louise Olsen and Stephen Ormandy will be exhibiting a unique collection of sculptural work entitled Olsen Ormandy: The Art of Dinosaur Designs at Karen Woodbury Gallery as part of Virgin Australia’s Melbourne Fashion Festival’s (VAMFF) cultural program. The exhibition showcases enlarged one-off resin sculptures created in the Dinosaur Designs Sydney studio, including a series of incredible pieces which resemble GIGANTIC necklaces strung on coloured rope (like, I'm talking nearly two metres wide!) 'The exhibition is a fusion of art, design and fashion' explains Stephen of this body of work, which marks new territory for Dinosaur Designs.  'For this show, we’ve created large sculptural pieces that reference our wearable collections and reinforce the textural and artful aesthetic in our work' Stephen continues. 'This exhibition has given us the opportunity to present our pieces in a gallery context, and has given us the freedom to play with scale and emphasise the relationship between form and colour of our pieces' Olsen Ormandy: The Art of Dinosaur Designs by Louise Olsen and Stephen Ormandy Open 5 to 29 March Karen Woodbury Gallery 1/167 Flinders Lane Melbourne, VIC Loop_dinosaur_designs_louise_olsen_stephen_ormandy_karen_woodbury
