ME as seen in the latest Rue Magazine!  Top left - me at Safari Living hanging out with my new pal Wilbur the Koala! Top right - a lunchtime pitstop at Sardine (chicken salad - SO good), and bottom right at Loom Rugs... LOVE love love those rugs.  All shots by Woodnote Photography.

If you follow The Design Files on Facebook you will know that yesterday the latest issue of US online magazine RUE came out - and I am super excited to be included in this issue as part of a little Melbourne shopping feature!  HOW COOL!

Like most things in my world, this wonderful opportunity arrived in the form of a random email :) Anne Sage at Rue originally contacted me in early January to assist in compiling a Melbourne shopping story... a mission which of course I accepted with great enthusiasm!  It was decided that the very lovely and supremely talented Caroline and Jayden of Woodnote Photography would shoot the story whilst they were in Melbourne in early Feb - so after a few emails back and forth, a date was set and off we went!

It was such a fun day taking Caroline and Jayden to a few of my favourite local haunts! Jayden is from Melbourne originally, whilst Caroline is American - this creative husband-and-wife team divide their time between both countries, shooting editorial and events in tandem.  They were so lovely and it really was a super fun shoot, and felt more like catching up with old friends than being at work!

One of the absolute best things about writing this blog is being able to support and promote local creative business... so the opportunity to introduce some of my favourite Melbourne shops to a wider audience is like the best thing ever. MASSIVE thanks to Anne Sage at Rue, Kat McEachern who wrote the sweet story, and Caroline and Jayden for the fabulous pics!  On that note, my top tip for a great headshot - cover most of your face with a soft toy of some description. Works a treat.

CHECK OUT the issue here!

More lovely shots by Woodnote Photography... clockwise from top left - Piet Hein Eek wallpaper at Safari Living, Emily Green necklaces at Hut 13, pom pom poufs at Safari Living, lunch at Sardine, sunglasses at Grace Boutique (where my fab new leopard print top is from!).
