A new Melbourne website for discerning dog-lovers - Four

Ok so as I think most people know, I'm  pretty far from being a 'dog person'.  I don't profess to knowing much at all about man's best friend (or any other domesticated animal for that matter) - however, I do know an excellent website when I see one!

Four is a seriously awesome new Melbourne-based website/blog covering all that might interest a cool, city-slicking, design-conscious dog lover.   YES it's niche, but as we all know, in the internet jungle, quality content is king - and Four certainly has this base covered.  Kooky concept + faultless execution, original content and a dash of great design is a pretty winning formula in my book.  Even if it is about dogs. :)

Four is the quirky creation of Melbourne graphic designer Marta Roca.  The concept was to brings together an eclectic mix of inspiring 'dog-centric' content for dog-lovers passionate about culture and creativity.

'Four is curated with a strong editorial approach and is written by people who find dogs fascinating and almost human' say Marta.  The impressive list of contributors include many familiar local names - Christina Teresinski of fab designer dog accessories label Best in Park, writer and denim designer Max Olijnyk of Note to Self, photographer James Geer, designer Campbell Boyer of Spore, and Melbourne-born ex-pat artist/designer Josh Gurrie who now lives in Brooklyn, New York.  That's a stellar line-up!

Four launched only a few months ago, but the idea was originally conceived by Marta Roca and Christina Terensinski around Christmastime  last year.  'Christina is mad about dogs, and I am fascinated by the intimate, somewhat strange bond between humans and their dogs' says Marta. Our thinking was: 'let's see what happens when dogs and culture collide, with content delivered in a way that we want to see it.'   Weird, but it totally works.   Well worth a visit!
