Like any good story, this one begins with food and wine… THE KO co-founders Karina van de Pol and Olivia Fleetwood met at a dinner party and ‘ended up sitting next to each other all night talking about cook books.’ United by their love of food, wine and design – Karina and Olivia also both had partners from Geelong, and were considering building lives at the beginning of the Great Ocean Road.

The duo immediately hit it off, and through a chance discussion with the local yoga studio, they discovered that a building was soon to become available in Geelong’s CBD. Olivia explains ‘we had a walk through and straight away knew the space was perfect!’ They had been discussing developing a co-working creative space in Geelong, and they stepped into a site with the perfect bones for this business venture.

THE KO is a creative workspace with three separate wings/creative fields: a photography studio, co-working office with a meeting room, and an events space. Olivia highlights that ‘a lot of our friends are small business owners or freelancers’ – photographers, stylists, designers who work from home, or commute to Melbourne several days a week. THE KO is a hub for these entrepreneurs ‘where people can connect, get inspired and collaborate.’

THE KO also offers workshops and events under the pillars of ‘food and wine’, ‘art and design’ and ‘creative ideas.’ Stay tuned as life drawing, gardening, wine tasting and book club details are all soon to be announced!
