How is your wallet looking today?! Yellowed receipts gone? Feeling better after an expired loyalty card detox?  Generally looking a bit more slender?  Yep, team Carryology sure do know their stuff, and today they share their top tips for travelling better. - Jenny x

It’s hard to be good at things we don’t often do. If you’re a flight attendant, chances are you’ve learned from lots of mistakes and you now travel smoothly and with little stress. For the rest of us, travel is infrequent and varied, so we need a little help with which bag to buy, how to pack and what to avoid saying as we pass by the big and slightly smelly security guy…

Choosing Rolling Luggage: There are some truly terrible suitcases out there. Like REALLY bad. If you’re in the market for a new wheeled bag, there are some great tips to find the good ones here. It covers subjects like choosing larger and softer wheels, the issues with hard-cases, and design elements that help a suitcase last longer.

Better Packing: In travel, less is more. If you can get by with one less bag, or a lighter bag, everything just flows more easily. Doug Dyment runs a blog called onebag.com. It’s a great resource, but a little intimidating on first approach. Here’s a short summary of the basics he covers.

Travel Security: And lastly, before you rush out to buy a full lock-set like all those other holiday makers, check this little post for why you probably shouldn’t bother. Any pen will open a locked zip in seconds, and allow it to close again without any sign of entry. It’s scary, but it’s also reality.
