Isobel with the very first copy of Owl Know How!

We got our first copy of the book on February 14th. A very exciting day! Since then we have been preparing for the launch and we’ve realised that it’s quite a business, releasing a book!

As part of the celebrations we are exhibiting all the sets and characters from the photographs and some other special items we have made to go with the book. The exhibition runs from Monday 2nd until Sunday 8th of April at No Vacancy Project Space in the atrium at Federation Square. We’re also running some craft workshops for children in the gallery on Saturday 7th.

Lots of goodies in the Owl Know How limited edition packs

Isobel has built an Owl Know How website and Cat has set about making plush toys for our limited edition packs. We have designed a small range of Owl Know How merchandise to furnish our online store too.

There are several other Owl Know How events coming up. The first public reading of the book will be at Outré Gallery on Saturday, April 14th at 2pm. There will be Outré exclusive merchandise made especially for the event and sold at the gallery on the day.

We will be giving artist talks and signing books in several bookstores around Melbourne and we’ll even be going interstate later on. The information for future events will be publicised through our mailing list and on the Owl Know How website.

Looking inside Owl Know How

Meanwhile both of us are trying to fit in the various other projects we have on this year!

Isobel has collaborated with her friend Natalya Hughes on a video piece in an exhibition coming up at GOMA in late April. She is also trying her hand at making paintings for an exhibition at C3 gallery in June and will be finishing some recordings with her band, The Icypoles.

Cat is working with Ghost Patrol on a window display for Craft Victoria in the second half of the year and has her fingers flying fast trying to fill all the Cat Rabbit orders on top of making owls, Cornelias and Orvis for Owl Know How.

Hope to meet you at one of the upcoming events! Thanks for reading along this week.
