Tess McCabe of the Creative Women's Circle joins us this week on the Guest Blog, shining a spotlight on creative women throughout the last century whose work is still much admired today.

Ooooh we are a bit excited this week because one of Melbourne's cleverest creative ladies is joining us - Tess McCabe of the Creative Women's Circle!  You may REMEMBER Ms McCabe because I raved about her an awful lot back here when she created the stunning illustrated map for The Design Files' Hobart Walking Guide!   She sure is one clever cookie.

BUT Tess really is much more than a talented graphic designer.  Since taking over the reigns of the Creative Women's Circle in 2009, Tess has worked tirelessly to organise bi-monthly events for local creative women to meet and share information, inspiration and ideas.   She has successfully expanded the database, reach and online presence of the CWC, and she also runs the BRILLIANT CWC website / blog.  It is an incredible feat that Tess runs every aspect of CWC pretty much single handedly!  Awesome work TESS!

Not surprisingly, Tess is passionate about empowering and promoting creative women.  This week for her Guest Blog, Tess has decided to shine a spotlight on some women throughout the last century who, without much support or promotion ('or the internet!' she says), created work which is still much admired today.  American designer Ray Eames, Bauhaus textile designer Gunta Stolzl and Australia's revered aboriginal artists Gloria Petyarre, Minnie Pwerle, and Emily Kame Kngwarreye all feature in Tess' inspiring Guest Blog this week!

The CWC have had some incredible speakers so far this year already, but Jenny & I are SUPER EXCITED to attend this weekend's event!  Please join us and hear Beci Orpin chat about her work at RMIT in Brunswick at 10.00am this coming Saturday!

TICKETS for this Saturday's CWC event with Beci Orpin are $11.00 - book your ticket right here!

OR if you're feeling lucky, leave a comment on Tess' Guest Blog on either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday this week to be in the running to WIN TWO TICKETS to this Saturday's event in Melbourne! The winner will be drawn at random this Thursday and contacted by email.

Huge thanks to Tess for joining us this week and for the ticket giveaway!  Don't forget to pop over each day to read Tess' inspiring Guest Blog posts!
