Tamara continues to inspire and challenge us this week with her Well Crafted Threats - What's Stopping YOU?! Don't forget that every day Tamara is giving away a Cross-stitch Starter Pack to one lucky reader, leave a by 10.00pm to be in the draw to win! – Jenny x

By far the biggest and most exciting project I am currently working on is my first book proposal!  Getting these wheels in motion hasn’t required a threat so much as this corker of a question - WHAT’S STOPPING YOU? I know some wonderful creatives who have had their work published - Shannon Fricke, Megan Morton, Fleur Wood and Emma Magenta... so the notion was not unfamiliar to me. A dream for many years, this challenging suggestion now glared at me until I realised there was actually nothing stopping me!

With all aspects of said proposal now underway and the help of two super clever members of my extended creative family, it is shaping up to be a very special book indeed. I wish I could post a taste for your reading pleasure... but alas this project remains under lock and key until I have secured the perfect publisher. Hint hint...

The only thing to do under such secretive circumstances is offer suggestions and inspirations from which you can draw your own conclusion. Below are some influential books, marry them with my signature take on craft and decorative arts, appetite for all things interiors and love of a custom diy project. Failing that subscribe to my mail outs and I will let you know the minute it hits the shelves!

*UPDATE – thanks so much for all your entries!  Congratulations to comment #2 – Susan!  Don’t forget, Tamara is giving away a kit each day so you still have 1 more chance to win. Get commenting folks!

My all time hands down favourite diy book, Tossed & Found by design duo Wary Meyers.

I love vintage craft and decorating books and am slowly building my collection. The simple cover art of Crafts Design – An Illustrated Guide published in 1962 is perfection.

Does anyone not love Fornasetti and the visual treat of striking black and white?! Designer Of Dreams is completely inspirational.

The Selby Is In Your Place is the interiors book I just can’t get enough of, and this house (right), an 18th century saltbox style on Long Island has got the goods.
