AND in the interests of sharing the love (our motto around here), please read on for a little info and background about each giveaway contributor!  Do follow the links to share your support for these generous local designers and retailers whose beautiful wares you see above!

Penelope Durston at Cottage Industry

It's no secret I am Penelope Durston's number one fan.  When it comes to crafty retail, she's in a league of her own.  These new hot water bottle covers are SO gorgeous - pieced together from the softest vintage woollen blankets. Truly the loveliest hottie on the market this winter!

But Pene's show-stopper this year is her INCREDIBLE new blanket quilts, made from vintage woollen blankets in the loveliest colours you can imagine.  100% handmade in Melbourne and only $330.00.  Pop in to her Fitzroy store and nab one before Pene comes to her senses and puts the price up!

Gorgeous new blanket quilts by Penelope Durston.
Welsh blanket cushions and that hottie again from Penelope Durston.  I think this is a better pic actually - see how soft it looks!?

Gina & May

I have blogged Gina & May's fantabulous umbrellas before - they're designed by Sydneysider Gina Pollock, who launched the range just last year and has taken the market by storm!  Talk about gap in the market!  Check out Gina's other beautiful designs on her website!

Hobes

I have been MEANING to blog these gorgeous shoes by Melbourne designer Georgia Hobart for, like, ever.  After a varied career in event management, branding and marketing, Georgia took a leap of faith and launched her footwear brand in May last year.   The basic premise for Hobes was to develop a brand that offered simple, beautiful, versatile footwear for any season.   Hobes immediately received a positive response from the fashion industry, press and local retailers - it seems we just can't get enough of these comfy little booties - the perfect winter shoe.  I'm not surprised Georgia now has her sights set on the UK market!

The Hobes Winter 11 range launches this week!  Check out the website for all the new designs - also you can make friends with Hobes on Facebook.  Our sweet Guest Blogger Lizzy Wilson is a massive Hobes fan and included some of the latest styles in her guest post on Monday...  QUICK off the mark, Georgia Hobart got in touch with this lovely giveaway offer!  Who am I to argue ?

T2

Really there is nowhere better to be on a wintery evening than rugged up on the couch with a pot of your favourite tea!  With this in mind, I made contact with the lovely people at T2 and bless their cotton socks, they came to the party!  (At very short notice too!).  I am particularly enamoured with the 'Melbourne Breakfast' tea they have included in this prize!  Black tea with vanilla and honey notes, apparently.  Well I never.  AND before anyone whinges about the Melbourne bias, you'll be pleased to know that every Australian capital city is represented - check out the full range here.

Safari Living

One of The Design Files' longest standing supporters, Safari Living really is the bees knees when it comes to homewares and gift shopping in Melbourne!  I am always amazed at the incredible range of stock Felicity manages to squeeze into her gorgeous little corner shop-front in East Prahran. It is a riot of colour and beautiful textiles - and the perfect balance of big international names such as Marimekko and Missoni, and local designer/makers such as Tim Fleming and Victoria Mason.  Do pop in and check out all the gorgeous new winter blankets from Donna Wilson, Missoni and Marrimekko!  OMG.  SO lovely.

Mrs Dalloway

Mrs Dalloway is the creation of Melbourne sisters Kath Strates and Paula Kilpatrick.  Every few months these clever local ladies run a gorgeous pop-up retail event in Richmond, stocking limited edition handmade pieces, beautiful fresh flowers and general vintage goodness!

Each time Mrs Dalloway opens her humble abode there are different goods on offer - the next event, entitled 'Mrs Dalloway's Winter Woollies Emporium Deluxe!' is inspired by the wintery sea, sailing ships and fisherman's knits!  As the name suggests, it will be filled with winter accessories - such as the gorgeous crocheted slippers kindly offered for this giveaway!  HOW CUTE are they?  Agh.  Many more colourways will be on offer at the Pop-Up on June 3rd, 4th and 5th - check out the website for details!

Assorted goodies you will find at Mrs Dalloway's winter pop-up in early June!  I am not really a 'dog person' but MAN that dog pic is too cute/ridiculous not to include!  Lovely work ladies!

Queen B Candles

You may have spotted Queen B (aka Cate Burton) in my little film about Joost Bakker's Sydney Greenhouse earlier this year!  Cate makes the most beautiful, all natural, handpoured Australian beeswax candles from her workshop in Sydney.  Do review my earlier post here for more info about these incredible candles.  You'll never buy a petroleum-based candle again! (Even if it's from France!)

Monk House Design

Another favourite of this week's fashion forward Guest Blogger, Monk House Design in Brunswick stocks the most fabulous glad rags for the stylish professional Melburnienne!  There is SO MUCH WINTER GORGEOUSNESS in store at the moment - I ducked my head in this week (to collect the Hansel from Basel stockings prize!) and got very quickly sidetracked by all the lovely new things!  (Including a brand new shipment of Vivienne Westwood / Melissa ankle boots - get in quick people!).
