Colourful highlights from Scott Weston's Guest Blog this week!

OK so we've had a MANY super amazing contributors since first launching the Guest Blog, but I think I can safely say that Jenny Butler has never been quite THIS excited about any one guest blogger!  She is, after all, Scott Weston's number one fan (with good reason, of course!) :)

You may remember my interview with Scott Weston back in May last year.  Scott is Sydney's most COLOURFUL architect - he and colleague Gregory Phillips steer well clear of the austere, minimalist style which characterises so many renovations in Melbourne and Sydney, instead opting for brave colour and pattern in every room, custom cabinetry in vibrant contrasting hues, bold graphic artwork and bespoke furniture.  They draw inspiration from far and wide, ensuring a completely unique result for each client.

This week Scott will take us through two projects recently completed by his firm, Scott Weston Architecture Design.  The 'Point Piper Apartment' is a 1920's Art Deco harbourside apartment which was completely gutted and re-built.   The second project - 'Rozelle House' - presented quite a different challenge.  Scott and Gregory were enlisted to design alterations and additions for this small suburban worker's cottage - a home that was literally bursting at the seams with parents and growing children.

We'll be taken step-by-step through each renovation - from inspiration through to design, build and on Friday - the finished results!  Scott's commentary is just as engaging as the colourful imagery - 'Did we mention that  the balcony is about to drop off?' he says of the Piper Point Apartment!?  But my FAVOURITE quip refers to the original condition of the Rozelle House - 'What can we say the existing house.... 'has a face like a saucepan, totally featureless'.  !!!  I am not making this up people.  Scott Weston is hilarious!

Huge thanks to Scott and Gregory for their time documenting these amazing projects!  It's a must-see Guest Blog for anyone considering renovating!
