Talk about the perfect week for winter fashion finds! As the temperature steadily drops so does my ability to resist toasty warm impulse buys and with the fab locally made temptations Down Girl has served up today - I think my hands will be dressed in a pair of knitted gloves [or two!] very soon. - Jenny x

Mum always assured me when I was a little girl ‘Cold hands means a warm heart’. If you're anything like me, gloves in winter are a necessity not an accessory. I get cold hands very quickly in winter to the point that they become numb. I cannot go without them when traveling from place to place and have to always remember to put on my gloves before going anywhere near the outside weather. Therefore, I am a keen collector of as many lovely designs and patterns that I can get my hands on, and have recently found my top five favourite pairs for this winter.

Winter attire can sometimes be pretty bland and mainly neutral in colour. Pretty as neutrals are I think these chilly months need some cheering up and that’s when pops of bright hues amongst your winter wearables is a fun way to brighten up a dark or serious outfit. Pene Durston’s gloves come in many cute pops, so many that it takes a very long time to decide which ones should follow you home. Otto and Spike have a huge collection including my favorite ‘Ships Mittons’! And I also adore the pretty Merino red lace gloves from Little Salon, so soft and so so warm.

Otto and Spike Ships Mittons $35 from Five Boroughs, Pene Durston Persimmon Gloves $45 from Cottage Industry.

Pene Durston Cherry Gloves $60 from Cottage Industry, Otto and Spike Fagins Gloves $35 from Five Boroughs

Merino lace red gloves $35 from Little Salon
